KPX / KPR EQUALIZING PRONG

The ‘KPX'/’KPR’ Equalizing Prong is used in conjunction with Lock Mandrel to plug the wellbore in either direction holding pressure from above or below.

The Equalizing Prong is designed for use where sediments might collect on the plug. The long prong length, allows the prong's fish neck to protrude higher above the sediments. This allows the prong to be pulled for equalization.

To equalize, the prong is removed from the plug housing. This will provides an equalizing path across the Plug Choke. Two Slickline trips are required to run or pull the plug.

Applications

  • When pressure-differential are anticipated across a flow control device.
