The KXO/KRO Equalizing Valve is used in the Lock Mandrel where pressure differentials are anticipated. It is designed to hold pressure from above or below and used with the large-bore KX Lock Mandrel for standard-weight tubing and KR Lock Mandrel for heavyweight tubing.
The KXO/KRO Equalizing Valve is run in the open position, and the running prong shifts the sleeve to the closed position during the setting procedure. The pulling prong shifts the sleeve downward to the open position for equalizing before pulling.
Note: Do not use the KXO/KRO Equalizing Valve in well with sand or sediment problem. The sediment will cover up the equalizing valve ID and will not allow the pulling prong to equalize during pulling.
Applications
- When pressure-differential are anticipated across a flow control device
- Used with KX & KXN Lock Mandrel for standard-weight tubing and KR & KRN Lock Mandrel for heavyweight tubing. (The ‘N’ designates no-go nipple)
- Not suitable for use in sand or sediment wells. Prong type Equalizing Valve should be used for sand or sediment well condition
- Suitable for H2S or Standard Service
Features
- No-Go OD
- Holds pressure from above or below
- Fluid bypass during running or retrieving operations
