The Separation Tool is design to isolate the flow through an open Sliding Sleeve. It allows the flow to enter from the casing and tubing annulus but block off the flow from below. It can be run and locked into the bore of the sliding sleeve by standard slickline methods.
The Separation Tool is used in conjunction with a Lock Mandrel. The Lock Mandrel provides as an anchoring device to anchor the Separation Tool onto the Sliding Sleeve.
The Lock Mandrel and the Separation Tool assembly is run using an appropriate Running Tool with a Running Prong (or by adding Prong Extension). During run in, the bottom equalize valve is held opened by the Running Prong. Once the Lock Mandrel is landed and the Lock Mandrel inside the Sliding Sleeve Landing Nipple, the Running Tool & Prong can be retrieved and the equalizing Valve will be closed upon retrieval of the Prong.
The Pulling Tool with a pulling prong is used to retrieve the lock and separation mandrel. The prong will open the Equalizing Valve to allow the equalizing of the pressure before pulling the Lock Mandrel.
