The Straddle Tool is design to eliminate specific perforation which cannot be abandoned due to remaining production below. It eliminates depth and pressure limitation and the ability to circulate between the packers without moving them allows easier retrieval in sediment screen-out situation.
The Straddle Tool comprises of a mandrel and a housing in which the spaced packers are carried by the housing. The numbers of bypass ports are arranged in the mandrel and the housing for aligning in several position. It is a unique application using a thru-tubing vented plug.
Features
Even with the packers are set, the sediments between the packers can be circulated out
No tubing rotation required
Large internal diameter allows for high pump rates
Compact design minimize lubricator requirements during coiled tubing and snubbing operation
Unlimited straddle length are possible by adding blast joint or tubing between the packer
Benefits
Multiple zones can be stimulated in a single trip, reducing rig time and stimulation equipment costs
Unlimited depth capabilities, pending compression
Ease of operation
No hydraulic effects when setting above bridge plugs
Ability to circulate sediments if breakthrough occurs for easy retrieval
Application
Wells that require stimulati
on of multiple intervals
Sand fracs and acid treatments
Zones that require high differential stimulation pressures
Tools can be run on coiled tubing or jointed pipe with additional components
