The Cable Cutter is positioned immediately below the Grease Injection Head and above the Tool Catcher.
In the event of the cable becomes struck in the grease injection flow tubes, in which the cable movement (upward or downward) is impossible, the Cable Cutter is designed to allows the cable to be cut safely and efficient, allowing the well to be safe and remedial action to take place to recoved the lost cable.
In addtion, the Cable Cutter made it possible to open the lubricator string and gain acceess to the wireline without stripping the wireline through the BOP seals and potentially losing seal.
