The Hydraulic Quick Disconnect (HQD) is designed to allow remote disconnect of high-pressure hose via hydraulic means. The Hydraulic Quick Disconnect is most suitable to be used with pump line or flow line connections between the platform and the floater.
The Hydraulic Quick Disconnect uses a fail close hydraulic mechanism. In the absence of hydraulic operating pressure, the Hydraulic Quick Disconnect will remain in a “Latch” position. The Hydraulic Quick Disconnect also comes with manual opening bolts for opening the Hydraulic Quick Disconnect manually.
The “Lock Dogs/Fingers” are the major locking components of this Hydraulic Quick Disconnect. When the Piston strokes to the right, it will trap the Lock Dogs/Fingers in a “Latch” position. When the Piston strokes to the left, it will free the Lock Dogs/Fingers as well as holding them in a fully opened position. The Tool has been pressure tested to the desired rating.
The Hydraulic Quick Disconnect is designed for 10000psi working pressure (15000psi Test Pressure) with stainless steel flow wetted parts for acid services.
