When performing wireline operations it is often necessary to make tool changes to the toolstring. To gain access, the lubricator is separated from the wireline valve by breaking out a quick union. Before the toolstring can be redeployed, it is good practice to test the integrity of the quick union o-ring.
By fitting the Quick Test Sub at the lower most point in the lubricator stack, pressurization of the small volume between the double o-ring seals is all required to confirm the integrity of the quick union connection. This not only cuts down on expansive test fluids, but also saves time in pumping large volumes to fill up the lubricator stack.
All gauges and fittings are manufactured from stainless steel and rated for 20,000psi.
The Quick Test Sub is intended for in-field testing purposes, and therefore the pressure should not exceed the lubricators working pressure.
