The Manual Tool Trap is designed to stop wireline tools from falling back down the well should the wireline accidentally break at the Rope Socket when pulling back into the lubricator.
The flappers installed within the tool can be manually opened to allow the tools to pass into the well bore. The manual handle also acts as a position (‘OPEN’ or ‘CLOSED’) indicator for the flappers.
The Manual Tool Trap is manufactured with various sizes of Quick Unions, pressure rating up to 20,000psi Working Pressure and for Standard or H2S Service.
Type ‘O’: Compatible with OTIS Union
