The Torsion Wire Tester is a portable apparatus to allow the testing of wireline to A.P.I. 9A Specification.
Regular testing of wire lines in service is strongly recommended in order to monitor the inevitable deterioration in wire to reduce the risk of wire failure down hole. The Torsion Wire Tester is designed to access the ductility of wire from 0.092” up to and including 0.125” diameter.
The test consists of twisting a sample of wireline round its own axis until failure occurs, noting the number of turns to failure.
